Threats Classification Scheme (Version 3.0)

The hierarchical structure of the threat types as listed on the species Fact Sheets is shown here.

In using this hierarchical classification of causes of species decline, assessors are asked to indicate the threats that triggered the listing of the taxon concerned at the finest level possible. These threats could be in the past, ongoing or in the future, using a time frame of three generations or ten years, whichever is the longer (not exceeding 100 years in the future) as required by the Red List Criteria.
