Taxonomic Notes: Only known from two museum specimens (cotypes) with TL of 9.5 cm (could be juveniles). The collection site is unknown and therefore it is unlikely to be recognised in the field (Konings, 1995).

Range Description: Endemic to Lake Malawi. Only known from two museum specimens (cotypes) with TL of 9.5 cm (could be juveniles). The collection site is unknown and it is therefore unlikely to be recognised in the field. If it is a valid species it probably has a very limited occurrence.
