| Range Description: |
Shallow parts of papyrus swamps around Lake Victoria. Also found in river mouths, rice fields and ditches connected to Lake Victoria, in Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda. In Uganda this species also occupies similar habitat as associated with Lake Kyoga, Lake George, Lake Edward, Lake Albert, Lake Nakavali and Lake Mamala, and the adjacent river systems. Also found in the Victoria Nile, and the Kafu and Katonga rivers (Wildekamp 1995).
